The LaFontaine Arts Council announces judge for 2016 Regional Art Show

The LaFontaine Arts Council is pleased to announce Justin Johnson as this year’s judge for the 2016 Regional Art Show. The show will be held at Huntington University’s Merrilat Centre for the Arts in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery.

Justin Johnson is the gallery director for the University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts, a position for over 13 years. He is in charge of coordinating all university gallery exhibitions and is also responsible for managing the university’s art collection. He is also a professional artist that works in mixed media drawing and exhibits regionally. He is represented by Crestwoods Gallery in Roanoke.

The opening reception for the show will be held at the Merrilat Centre on Thursday, August 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Viewing begins Friday, August 5 and continues through Wednesday, August 31, 2016. The Wilson Gallery hours are 9-5 daily with some summer schedule exceptions. The Merrilat Centre for the Arts telephone number is 260.359.4261.

Entry forms/fees are due by July 27. Entry brochures are available on the Lafontaine Arts Council Facebook page as well as by contacting the office at the number above. Entry forms are also available at the Huntington County Visitors Center in downtown Huntington.
