The LaFontaine Arts Council has begun planning for JeFFFest, this year scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 19, in downtown Huntington from 6 to 8:30 pm.
The family-friendly community event will be held on Franklin Street between Jefferson and Warren Streets this year and will feature Fabulous Music, Fun Food, and Fine art.
The art portion of JeFFFest offers local and area artists of all ages the opportunity to create an art work on a five-inch by seven-inch canvas. These official JeFFFest canvases will be available for purchase starting May 1 in the Arts Included Gallery of the Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center, 32 E Franklin Street. The gallery is open from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday through Friday and from noon to 4 pm on Saturday.
The completed canvases are to be returned to the gallery by June 11 at which time they become property of the LaFontaine Arts Council. They will be framed and then displayed in the Arts Included Gallery for the silent art auction, which will begin June 16 and end the evening of JeFFFest.
Artists may purchase more than one canvas, and any medium can be used on the canvas. Submissions must be dry and ready for framing when they are turned in.
All proceeds from JeFFFest go toward the LaFontaine Arts Council’s Arts in Education programming.
