The LaFontaine Arts Council is expanding the Arts in Education programming to the public on Oct. 21 and 22 at 6 p.m. each night.

Karim Nagi will present “Arabiqa: Arab Music Dance and Culture.”

Karim is a lifelong advocate of the Arab performing arts and for the embracing of diversity in the American school system.

His music and dance provide an uplifting new narrative, representing the ebullient and welcoming nature of Arab and Muslim people.

Arabiqa has performed in over 400 school assemblies and Nagi seeks to familiarize and redefine his culture to young audiences through the power of joyful dance and music. The LaFontaine Arts Council presents this public programming free of charge as part of the Arts in Education series, which is made possible in part by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, Indiana Arts Commission, and Arts United.

Annual LAC fund-raising events and community patronage also allow the Council to continue its mission of presenting and promoting the arts in Huntington County.

Social distancing and masks are required at the newly renovated arts center.

All are welcome to the presentation, but reservations must be made due to limited seating. Make a reservation by emailing lafontaineartscouncil@gmail.com , or by calling Executive Director Katy Strass at 519-0869.

The Huntington Arts and Entrepreneurial Center is located at 32 E. Franklin St., Huntington.
