Debbie Dyer moved from Chicago to Huntington, Indiana in May of 1979. Dr. David S. Dyer established a successful Chiropractic Practice in Huntington at that time.
Debbie was the office administrator for the practice for 10 years. In 1989 she accepted a position as the Secretary for the Guidance Office at Huntington North High School. In 1999 she resigned her position at the high school.
An LAC board member since 1981, in 2000 she was selected as the Executive Director of the LaFontaine Arts Council. Debbie loved her time in that position and was passionate about the mission of the LAC and it’s Arts in Education Programming in the county schools and the community at large. In 2020, Debbie retired her position as the executive director. She continues as a board member and is currently the LAC board treasurer.
Debbie was also active on several not-for-profit organizations in the community. Those organizations included: Chi Chapter of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa, Inc, P.E.O., and Junior Achievement.
Debbie and her husband have two sons, David Dyer Jr, Vice President of Tonn & Blank Construction in Fort Wayne, and Dr. Derek Dyer, Proprietor of Dyer Health & Wellness.
They feel very fortunate that their sons and their families reside in Huntington and Roanoke. They are blessed with 5 grandchildren.
